Together with natural stone, wood is only 100% natural building material available. When log thickness is sufficient, there’s no need for synthetically made insulation materials. This synthetic free structure makes log the most ecological building material available. Log houses are known for their long endurance. Oldest know log buildings, still in use today, are from 15th century.
Green production
We design and product our log buildings with advanced CAD-CAM system introduced in 2010. Plans are transferred electronically from designer’s computer to production. Our peak developed computer-guided production lines optimize material usage to minimize deficit. Our newest production line, introduced in 2010, is made by Hundegger Maschinenbau GmbH. Hundegger is known as one of the world’s leading manufacturer of high-quality and environmentally friendly woodworking machines.
Finnish forestry is highly acknowledged and based on sustainable development values. That’s why we mainly use high-quality Finnish pine, which has been slowly grown, has high resistance to weather variations and is naturally breathing building material. We select hard and fine textured logs from the forest ourselves and have them sawn, dried and planed. We strive to acquire our logs as close as possible to avoid emissions caused by transportation. We are co-operating with local forestry association to improve forest management.
